Tuesday, May 10 - FOR MY WIFE with guest speaker, Charlene Strong Chronicles the making of an activist for Marriage Equality. Charlene Strong was thrust into the spotlight after the tragic death of her wife, Kate. After facing this loss and the heartless humiliation of hospital and funeral home staff, Charlene took a stand and changed law in Washington state. celebrates gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender couples who want to celebrate their wedding in style. Walking the runway will be local and professional models along with favorite female impersonators, featuring all the finery associated with the big day. Vendors, raffles and entertainment not to be missed as part of this singular sensation! The afternoon concludes with wedding cake, champagne and dancing. Door 2:30p, program 3-7. Tickets $15 each or $100 table of eight.

Friday, July 8, 15, 22, 29, finale August 5 - Five weeks of Keene Karaoke IDOL? Yes! You asked and we’re responding by adding a youth category ages 7-14 to this popular event. Eight youth contestants will join with the top 25 adults in the expanded version of everyone’s favorite talent showcase. Judges Ted McGreer, Steve Pro and Jen Bond return. Watch for details at www.keeneonline.com/idol/. Door 6p, show 7, admission $10. Cash bar and menu offered by Waxy O’Connor’s Irish Pub. Friday, November 18 - CIVIL RIGHTS, EQUAL RIGHTS, MARRIAGE EQUALITY Activist Charlene Strong at KSC.On Friday, November 18, Strong will travel to Keene State College, Mountainview Room, 3rd floor Student Center, to share her story and discuss the status of marriage equality in New Hampshire and the United States, as well as efforts to repeal DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act) enacted by former President Bill Clinton. Film clips from her documentary, for my wife, will be shown.

 GREETINGS FROM OBAMA REPRESENTATIVE AT “DON’T ASK, DON’T TELL” REPEAL EVENT. On Tuesday, September 20, the 17-year-old policy that has required gay service men and women to hide their sexual orientation, known as Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, will officially end. Kayla Calkin, the regional field director for Obama for America will represent the President at this momentous occasion.

 GLAD files anti-discrimination lawsuit on behalf of group home for people with HIV and Hepatitis C.  For the second time Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) has filed a lawsuit against a New Hampshire town that is trying to shut down a group home for people living with HIV and Hepatitis C Virus.

The contestant pool has been narrowed to the Top 14 for week three of Keene Karaoke IDOL! For the July 22 elimination round contestants will be performing songs by the Beatles.  Additionally, four youth contestants join the event!
