Services for the Monadnock Region
RECIPIENT OF DONATION FROM BOB’S DISCOUNT FURNITURE
COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM
(Keene, NH) AIDS
Services for the Monadnock Region, the AIDS service organization located in
Gilsum, NH that covers the southwestern corner of the state, is the recipient of
a $1500 award from Bob’s Discount Furniture meant to upgrade furniture needs at
The Cleve Jones Wellness House.
“Through the Bob’s Outreach program, we strive to give back to deserving
organizations in our community,” said Cathy Poulin, Public Relations Director
and TV personality for Bob’s Discount Furniture. “The work being done by
everyone at AIDS Services for the Monadnock Region is remarkable, and we’re so
happy to be able to show appreciation for what they do and to help them furnish
the home of the people they care for.”
Located in Gilsum, Wellness House provides housing for 7 adults living with
HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C. The single-room occupancy setting includes supportive
case management services to help people strengthen and rebuild their lives. The
Wellness House program serving this population is the only such program in NH,
VT and ME and is named after the founder of the AIDS Memorial Quilt, Cleve
Jones.
According to Arne Grandell, agency Board Chair, “We couldn’t be more thrilled to
receive this incredible recognition from Bob’s Furniture. Their community
outreach program, Bob’s Outreach, dovetails with our agency’s mission in helping
clients to improve the quality of their lives through case management, enhanced
life-skill training and housing. We’ll be visiting the Nashua, NH store soon to
acquire bedding and other needed furniture.”
