Top contestants have been chosen for the eighth annual Keene
IDOL fundraiser of AIDS Services for the Monadnock Region who will compete over
the course of five consecutive Fridays, July 8, 15, 22, 29 and August 5. This
year the event will be held in the function room at McCue’s on Emerald Street,
Keene. Owner Tom Nephew has generously offered his space at no cost to support
the agency’s largest fundraiser, representing a savings of $1800.
Returning adults include 2011 grand-prize winner Nate Wesley, 2007 grand-prize
winner Karen Bays and 2009 grand-prize winner Wade Garrett. Performers will
compete for the top three spots as well as the Audience Favorite Award and are
Rebekah Autrey, Karen Bays, Scott Bedard, Tony Bourque, Shauna Crosby, John
Curran, David Drewing, Kim Drewing, Kate Duchesneau, Laural Ferguson, Wade
Garrett, Erin Girouard, Heather Kovacs, Karin Leach, Haleigh Lord, Kay Perkins,
Deb Pickering, Kiara Sampson, Michelle Sargent, Courtney Swift, Megan Ward and
Nathan Wesley.
Eight contestants have entered this year’s youth component of IDOL, ranging in
age from 8 to 14. They are Brian Bedard, Sadie Caulfield, Melissa Croteau,
Sabryn Farashahi, Nichole Forgues, Scout Landry, Lily Shakour and Anna Wojenski.
They will compete on July 22, 29 and August 5. Three youth finalists chosen by
the judges will advance to the August 5 finale, but the audience will determine
who wins the top three spots.

adult elimination round to choose the $250 Audience Favorite Award. Grand prize
$1000, second prize $750, third prize $500. The top three youth contestants will
win trophies and prize packages consisting of cash and vendor gift certificates,
and all youth will be acknowledged for their participation.
DJ for the event is Aime Theroux of Kicks Karaoke. Judges are Ted McGreer, Steve
Pro and Jen Bond, joined each week by a Mystery Judge in the audience. Gary
Gagnon will serve as Emcee. IDOL website by David Teubner, owner of Keene

Doors open at 6:00p, show begins at 7p. Admission $10/person; seating reserved
